Why is the application asking so much information?
These cats are our babies. We hand raise every one and put unimaginable amounts of time, love and money into them and we will only place them in the best homes possible. The process of reviewing applications can take up to a week. We will always put the cats needs and personality before anything else.

Does Celestial Siberians have kittens available immediately?
We do not usually have kittens available immediately. If we happen to have an opening on the wait list, we recommend you get a spot as soon as possible. Therapy cats get reservations very quickly and we would like everyone to have the opportunity at owning one.

If I change my mind about the kitten may I return my kitten?
We will ALWAYS take back a cat or kitten. We put so much time, money and most importantly love into these cats to ever see them end up somewhere that they are not meant to be and we take extreme pride in choosing families that match each kittens personality. The cats will always be our family and are always welcomed at home. When a cat is returned They will be vet checked to make sure they are healthy and then offered to a family on the wait list. Once they are rehomed you will get a refund of the amount the family pays for the kitten minus vet and housing costs.

Allergies
We do not guarantee allergy levels as each person reacts a bit differently as we are all unique. In special cases we can offer a genetic allergy test done however, this is done at the new parents’ cost. As an high allergy family and asthmatics, we personally have never had extreme reactions to our lines of cats. The cats and kittens are hypoallergenic meaning they are very low allergen. If a kitten is returned , we will work with you to find the perfect solution. If you are not ready to have a mild reaction to the kitten as they grow and while your body adjusts, please speak with us and we will do our best to guide you towards a different breed that will fit if possible.

I would like to come and meet the kittens and pick them out in person, is that allowed?

Due to the current circumstances with Covid 19 and the risk to the kittens that are unvaccinated, we do not offer in person visit, but we will do facetime chats and videos when requested. As well as photos as much as possible. We love to chat with our new families.

Why are your cats therapy cats?
We have a whole page on our therapy cats! But having needed some love and purpose in our lives and beginning our therapy cat program, we decided to focus on the aspects of therapy cats to help many people who are disabled, elderly, special needs and more. They are a blessing to anyone who owns one and each personality is different but always has some characteristics of their therapy parents.

The benefits of animals in therapy are proven – in one study, when cats were present during a therapy session:

  • Depressed patients were more social, and experienced decreases in depression.

  • Children with severe ADHD showed increased attention spans.

  • Autistic or developmentally disabled patients were more social, and showed increased attention spans.

  • Patients with Alzheimer’s experienced decreases in depression and anger, with increased

  • People going through a loss or divorce are given companionship again

  • Those diagnosed with a chronic illness are given some love and hope

  • The neuro-divergent are given a companion that understands them at all times and helps with some of the loneliness that can happen when facing a life a bit different than others (As someone with Asperger’s, Depression and trauma I fully agree with all of these scenarios as they have helped immensely in my own life.

Why are payments nonrefundable?
A deposit reserves a slot in a litter for you and you alone. When you are paying, your supplies and necessities are bought for the kitten right when payment is made. You are going to get a kitten – you’re just waiting for the litter finish nursing and learning all necessary life skills from their mom, and get ready for his or her new home.

The reason payments are nonrefundable is that canceling actually costs us quite a bit of money. We do not sell kittens lightly, so we will spend a huge amount of time not only advertising the kitten and cattery(photographing, publishing, etc.) but in new communication with a new possible families. Stocking up medical supplies for the current and future litters and cats, buying toys every month to keep the cattery steril including ct furniture like trees. Investing into ongoing education. Procuring enrichment activities. Stocking up on food to avoid the need to raise costs on kittens. Prepayment method we pay the vets to lock in the best pricing for these imminent litters. refurbishing the home and cattery to always be improving and building the best of the best for these cats care. Investing into new cats from abroad to continue exceptional lines. As well as so much more. All payments are going directly to providing the best life for the cats and kittens that we are honored with!
When we take payments and have contracts approved we are taking into account that this is a serious commitment.

Do the cats have Genetic Testing?
Yes, all of our cats are tested to uphold the highest standards of health and are retested every few years. Our cats come with a Genetic Warranty outlined further in our owner contract. Should a cat have a diagnosed life threatening genetic issue there is a refund of 50% or a new kitten pending all information and testing to confirm. We use Optimal Selection for our DNA testing needs and check the cats for HCM on a regular basis.

Are your cats FELD1 tested?
The predecessors of our lines have had the FELD1 testing done and have been bred to be very low levels, however to keep costs under $4000+ per kitten, our current parents have not been tested through a lab but they do live in a extreme allergy and asthmatic home with no reactions. Each person will be unique just as each cat is unique but if there is any reaction to the cat it usually lasts less than 2 to 12 weeks of mild sniffles. Should the allergies persist we have a return clause in the contract with more information!

Should I buy One or Two kittens?

Our advice with kittens is very different from our advice with puppies. Two puppies at the same time is a terrible idea, but two kittens is a wonderful one.

Unfortunately, your existing cat or cats are often not suitable companions for kittens. Older cats rarely welcome a kitten right away; they need weeks or months to get used to the new addition. Having a brother or sister makes the transition to a new home easier, and can blunt some of the constant energy and pesky behavior that make kittens difficult for older cats to handle.

If you are going to bring home one, be prepared to fill that kitten’s hours with activity and to protect your older cat(s) from being pestered and to keep your kitten happy.

Should I buy a Girl or a Boy Cat?
Both! Just kidding (or not).
There is a huge misconception that males are the more affectionate cat. These Therapy cats are amazing in both sexes. We have not seen a major difference in love and affection when we hand raise kittens so very HANDS ON! Each cat is unique but my girls and boys are just as wonderful as each other yet my females can become more kid friendly and nanny cat like where they will come running as a child cries or learns cues from your family.
